Abhyangam massage can help your body get rid of all the ama or toxins accumulated from the chaotic lifestyles of the modern world.
Churna Pindam Choorna Pinda Sweda is an Ayurvedic therapy where the whole body is massaged with a herbal powder or 'choornam' in poultices to induce therapeutic sweating. This treatment is recommended for weight management, treating vata and kapha disorders, enabling relief from inflammation and stiffness, neurological diseases and arthritis.
Shirodhara Shirodhara is a classical and a well-established ayurvedic procedure of slowly and steadily dripping medicated oil or other liquids on the forehead. This procedure induces a relaxed state of awareness that results in a dynamic psycho-somatic balance.
Nethra Kshalanam Nethra Kshalanam is a special ayurvedic cleansing treatment involving pouring of herbal extracts in a continuous stream over the eyes. Highly beneficial for people who complain of eye strain and fatigue. It helps remove the impurities from eyes, makes it clear and improves eye sight. Gives an overall cooling, refreshing and soothing feeling to the eyes.
Shashtika Pinda Sweda Shastika Shali Pinda Sweda (pronounced Shaash-tee-kaa Shaa-lee Pin-ḍa Sway-da) is a unique Ayurveda therapy using a special variety of Indian rice in a bolus, dipped in a nourishing herbal milk decoction and massaged onto the body. Shastika means “sixty”—denoting rice that matures in sixty days; Shali means “rice”; Pinda implies a bolus or bag and Sweda is the name of a sudation therapy. Shastika Shali Pinda Sweda is performed Ekangam (on one part of the body) or Sarvangam (on the whole body) with a bolus of boiled Shastika rice dipped in Bala Mula Kwatha (a herbal decoction) and Ksheeram (milk). This special brownish-red rice is also called Navara in South India. Even though it is a Swedana (fomentation or sweat-inducing heat therapy), it has a Brimhana (nourishing effect) and is useful to strengthen, nourish and support bones, muscles, joints and nerves.
Herbal Scrub This exfoliation therapy helps to remove dead skin cells that stick to the skin outermost surface. The Scrubbing paste is made from Blending Coconut, rice, oats powder and range of Other natural products including green gram. This leaves the skin smooth and fresh and also prepares the skin for the next body treatment.
Ksheeradhara The Ksheeradhara treatment includes a constant flow of herbal milk over the head and body, instead of the regular oil concoction in other Ayurvedic treatments. It is quite similar to Shirodhara, but Ksheeradhara has a cooling effect on the body and is recommended during the summer months or in circumstances that require relaxing or cooling effects.
Pathrapinda Swedanam Pinda Sweda is a common form of Swedana in which the medicaments are tied up in a cloth and used for the therapy. In Patra Pinda Sweda, leaves of medicinal plants and other drugs are tied up in the cloth and applied to the body while frequently heating it. Also called Ela Kizhi, the treatment is usually done after a light oil massage or Abhyanga; it offers relief in diseases related to bones, muscles, and nerves.
Pizhichil Pizhichil is a traditional Ayurvedic treatment involving soft massage of the whole body in streams of lukewarm medicated oils. In olden times, the treatment was specially offered to the kings, and therefore, it was famously referred to as “Treatment for Aristocrats” or “the King of Ayurvedic Therapies”. Some other names by which the Pizhichil treatment is known are Sarvangadhara, Kaya Seka, and Thailadhara.
Virechanam Virechanam is the medicated purgation therapy that completely cleanses the body of the pitta dosha, and removes toxins from the gastrointestinal tract, liver and gallbladder. The procedure is carried out by liquefying and smoothening the doshas and bring them to the intestine before the actual treatment is given. On the day of the therapy, virechanam specific drugs are given to the patient to induce bowel movements. It facilitates the elimination of pitta from kidneys, lungs and sweat glands, purifies the blood, and treats and uproots diseases ensuring non recurrence.
